Diljit Dosanjh’s Hyderabad Concert Row: Telangana Govt. Bans Artist From Singing Songs Promoting Alcohol, Drugs

Days before Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in Hyderabad, the Telangana government issued a notice to the organisers stating that songs promoting alcohol, drugs, and violence should not be sung at the event. Reports have revealed that the notice was issued by the District Welfare Officer of the Department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens.

Diljit has been performing all over the country as part of his Dil-Luminati Tour including 10 major cities. The notice will not bar the actor and singer from performing some of his which mention alcohol, drugs and violence. A representative also submitted video evidence and stated that Diljit Dosanjh had sung such songs during his live show in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi last month.

His next performance is lined up for November 15, at Cyberabad and he has already arrived in the city. According to reports, the notice also restricts the organisers and singers from using children on stage during the show as loud noises and flashing lights are harmful to the young ones.

During his visit to the city, the actor and singer also visited the historic Charminar and offered prayers at a temple and Gurudwara in Hyderabad.
