Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy and his wife Sudha Murthy, a celebrated author and philanthropist, graced The Great Indian Kapil Show and shared endearing stories about their marriage. The couple, who recently celebrated 46 years together, shared valuable insights into their relationship, their day-to-day life, and even their kitchen escapades.
Reflecting on how couples often adopt each other’s habits over time, Kapil Sharma, the host, asked Sudha Murthy if she had picked up any qualities from her husband. “I’ve become a workaholic like him and a stickler for time,” she said adding that she is “a terrible cook.”
“Just look at his weight. Why is he like that? Thanks to my cooking,” she joked. “Wives should cook bad food to keep their husbands’ weight in check.”

The light-hearted exchange took a more sentimental turn when Sudha shared a memory from the past when she cooked for Narayana Murthy. She recalled how, early in their marriage, she once prepared a meal and forgot to add salt.
“When I realised I had forgotten the salt, I asked him why he didn’t mention it. He said that since I’d taken time out of my busy schedule to cook, he wouldn’t complain,” she revealed.
The episode also welcomed Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato, and his wife Grecia Muñoz, who joined Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy on the show, adding their own reflections on marriage, food, and balancing life with high-profile careers.
