Elon Musk Responds to Viral College Physics Homework Photos; Says “Some Pages Are Missing…”

Recently, photos of Elon Musk’s college physics homework surfaced online, drawing the attention of the Tesla CEO and sparking a quick response. Shared by a fan on social media, the images revealed Musk’s handwritten calculations, which he instantly recognized. Musk explained that the assignment involved the “derivation of moments of inertia from first principles,” a complex physics concept dealing with object rotation. He also noted that several pages appeared to be missing from the posted materials.

“Here’s some of Elon Musk’s physics homework from his time at the University of Pennsylvania,” posted X user Dima Zeniuk. In a follow-up tweet, the user shared two additional pages that Musk had previously posted on X.

Notably, Elon Musk initially attended Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, before transferring to the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned dual degrees in economics from the Wharton School and physics from the College of Arts and Sciences.

At the University of Pennsylvania, Elon Musk concentrated on energy physics, which ignited his interest in sustainable energy. While in college, he co-founded Zip2, a software company that created city guides for newspapers to support his ambitions. Although he was accepted into Stanford’s PhD program in applied physics, he left after just two days to pursue opportunities in the tech industry, beginning his entrepreneurial journey.

These rare pictures have attracted reactions from several users on X. One wrote, “This topic is quite fascinating, and I’m always eager to learn more about the fundamental principles behind these important concepts.” another wrote, “Looks like a computation of inertia tensor.” while another wrote, “Hmm, so it was not Sheldon Lee Cooper?! Interesting!”, other user wrote, “We did physics too but only difference is we don’t remember any of it while he remembers it all and has applied it towards real products.”

Some users joked about Musk’s handwriting. These comments included, “Nice handwriting lol” , “Now I feel better that my handwriting is atleast a little better than that of the richest man in the world (it’s not its shit)”, “Why do Intelligent guys handwriting always suck” and more.
